Regional Championships 2026
This page provides information about the regional championships in cloud computing for the year 2026. Apprentices from various vocational schools across Switzerland will have the opportunity to participate in this exciting competition, showcasing their skills and knowledge in cloud computing using AWS services.
General information can be found on the official page of our parent organization ICT Berufsbildung Schweiz: https://www.ict-berufsbildung.ch/grundbildung/berufsmeisterschaft/
Structure and Rules
- 3 hours to complete as many tasks as possible, mostly fully independent of each other, some interconnected.
- automated platform providing you with a temporary AWS account, task instructions, and scoring
- real-time scoring of your progress, giving you feedback on your performance in minutes.
- open book format: use any online resources, including documentation, tutorials, and AI tools
- no communication or collaboration with other participants or external individuals
- confidentiality is required, you must not disclose any materials / tasks / information at any time
How it Works
On the day of the competition, you will receive credentials to log into the competition platform. The platform will provide access to your tasks, a temporary AWS account, and your current scores. You can then start working on the tasks in your own environment, switching between tasks as needed. Your usual flow will be like:
- Decide which task you will tackle next, having access to the full description of all tasks at any time.
- Read the task description carefully and understand the requirements.
- Implement the solution using the provided AWS account and any online resources you find helpful.
- Check the platform realtime scoring for completion and correctness of your solution. (few minutes delay)
For complex tasks, there may be hints available to help you progress. However, using hints will reduce your maximum score for the specific task slightly, so it’s up to you to decide if and when they’re worth it.
You do not have to remember any of these instructions; they will be provided to you again on the day of the competition, with a specific website explaining the process in detail.
AWS Services
The complete list of AWS services that will be used in the competition will be published here before mid-January 2026. Until then, you can assume that generic infrastructure services like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM and others will most likely be part of the competition.
